The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the Baptist faith as adopted by the Hassock Dictionary. We band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the Good News of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction.
God
There is one and only living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe.
God the Father
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace.
God the Son
Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation of Jesus Christ, he was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He gave His life on the cross of Calvary and rose victorious over death, hell and the grave. He now sits on the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us daily.
God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired the holy men of old to write the Scriptures as given by God. Through illumination, He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ, convicts sin of righteousness and of judgment. He leads, guides, directs and comforts us.
